2017 Greencastle Music Fest Was a Success!
What a Saturday August 26th was! We had such a great turn out at this year’s Greencastle Music Fest and are so thrilled with the way the community came together to enjoy a wonderful evening of food, games, and music.
The 8th annual Greencastle Music Fest drew an estimated 3,000 people to The Square. WOW! With beautiful weather and a stellar lineup of musical performances, it was certain to be a great day in downtown Greencastle. From our friend Eric Michaels there to DJ, to the great band Southern Country, to our headlining act, the Louisville Crashers, the festival was full of talent and entertainment.
The Kid’s Area was a hit, and short performances by local group Rockology drew quite the crowd! It was certainly fun to see all the little ones running around with elaborate face paintings and enjoying themselves.
Our food tent workers occasionally ran out to the dance floor to do a country line dance while Eric Michaels DJ’d. Southern Country’s dedication to getting the crowd involved in their performance was a blast, as they often came off the stage and into the groups of people to sing and dance. And of course, the Louisville Crashers put on a show for all ages, playing everything from older rock to today’s Bruno Mars hits. A really special moment of the night took place when Don Von Tress, a Greencastle native, took the stage with the Crashers to perform a rendition of Achy Breaky Heart, a song he wrote 25 years ago!

The event surely would not be possible without all of the community partners and sponsors involved in the Greencastle Music Fest. Additionally, to all of those who volunteered their time, their energy, and their muscles to setting up, tearing down, and making sure the event ran smoothly, we are so grateful!
